The deficiency of quality health services has been pinpointed as a detrimental challenge that the people of Bukedea face. Bukedea has 16 Health Units in different categories. Some of them are government hospitals while others are owned by Non -Government Organizations. The distribution is fair, but some of them lack the basic equipment to offer reasonable services. Many rural units require rehabilitation and equipping. Besides diseases, poor nutrition has contributed to a worrying situation. Because of the cross-cutting nature of health issues, there is a need for an integrated approach to health.
Amuno Rural Hub seeks out vulnerable children and adults in dire health/disability situations and provides them with proper medical attention through surgeries and rehabilitation. Our dream is that once they are “restored,” they will then have the opportunity to live normal independent lives and give back to their communities.
